Going back to basics
Over time, enterprise technology takes on a life of its own, with different business owners, vendors, systems and processes emerging for what in fact may be very similar functions. Naturally, this can lead to inconsistency, confusion and “protectionist” views about what is best for the organization. With its enterprise technology offering, BTE steps in to rationalize and simplify, usually to reduce costs or achieve quality assurance.
Case in Point
A financial services organization, comprised of multiple integrated firms, realizes it is operating with five separate general ledger systems. As you might expect, this situation leads to a lack of data integrity, technical support issues and manual workarounds. To help resolve the problem, BTE uses its three-step approach to rationalize the various systems to determine an appropriate course of action: select one of the incumbent systems, abandon all five in favor of a new system, or integrate components of multiple existing systems. BTE establishes an action plan based on the outcome of its client’s rationalization process and will assist as needed in the scheduling, implementation, training and rollout.
