With nearly 600 locations throughout North America, 1,900 customer service associates and a robust online presence, Grainger is the leading industrial distributor of products to keep facilities and equipment running.

To support business growth, decrease operating costs and maintain a competitive edge, Grainger sought to launch an integrated supply chain e-commerce revenue stream, but was concerned about project delays and cost overruns. With a core team of business and technology architects, BTE leveraged its architectural expertise to deliver Grainger's total maintenance, repairs and operations (MRO) e-commerce solution in five months, under budget.


THE RESULT: Costs per dollar of revenue decreased and the system was able to process an amazing 25,000 customer transactions per minute. This significantly expanded Grainger's revenue potential and secured their position as an industry leader.


Credit Suisse
Credit Suisse is an investment bank offering securities products and financial advisory services to corporations, governments and institutional investors.

Credit Suisse needed to achieve efficiences across business divisions while enabling rapid support for business growth. BTE Consulting utilized the BOST framework to help Credit Suisse execute and complete a current state data architecture assessment for two of their high-growth divisions and create a goal data architecture with an associated transition roadmap necessary to support the future needs of both divisions.


THE RESULT:Credit Suisse was able to rationalize and combine the IT footprint of both organizations over time, improving customer responsiveness while realizing significant cost savings. The new data architecture helped the two divisions realize a 50% increrase in customer volume with associated increases in revenues.


OfficeMax is a leader in both business-to-business and retail office products distribution providing office supplies and services to businesses of all sizes, government offices, and consumers. Annual sales are $8.9 billion.
